“Where's the dining table?” shouldn't take twenty minutes
The order information always exists. It's just in five places — confirmation emails, the supplier's portal, a spreadsheet, a text thread, and your memory. So every “when does it land?” is an archaeology project, and the one order nobody checked is the one that misses install.
This tracker puts every order on one sheet with the only math that matters: order date + lead time = expected arrival, checked against your install date — with a flag that turns red while there’s still time to fix it.
What’s inside
1. Order tracker
One row per item: PO number, supplier, order date, lead time (weeks), expected arrival (calculated), received date, install-by date, and an automatic ON TRACK / AT RISK / LATE flag.
2. Deposits & balances
What's paid, what's owed, what's due before ship.
3. Supplier directory
Contacts, typical lead times, notes.
4. How to use
Including the one habit that makes it work: update the sheet the moment the confirmation email arrives, not on Friday.
FAQ
- Is this a purchase order template too?
- There's a clean PO tab you can print/PDF per order — number, items, quantities, supplier terms. The tracker is the part you'll live in.
- What about client-facing status?
- Deliberately not in this sheet — clients don’t need supplier names and PO numbers. (Our budget template has the client-safe view; in Mortar, clients see status without the trade detail.)
